Last Tuesday, June 9th , the EPIC: Entrepreneur Peer Insight Circle event took place. An integral networking space promoted and organized by the Colombian American Chamber of Commerce Miami.  This exclusive initiative was designed with the fundamental purpose of strengthening connections between business owners and entrepreneurs through circles of trust, collaboration, and strategic learning. The gathering served as the main stage to demonstrate that, under a structured dynamic, ideas are shared securely, and networking is transformed into real corporate value. On Tuesday, June 9th , the event "Leadership Challenges in an Age of Uncertainty" took place. Artificial intelligence is transforming the way we work, and this event was designed to explore how these technological tools are revolutionizing productivity and how they can be strategically implemented within organizations . During the event, we were joined by two leading industry experts: Diego Convers, CTO of Firefly , and Ademir Soleto, Microsoft technologies specialist and consultant at the same company. Through a practical, results-oriented approach, both speakers demonstrated how artificial intelligence solutions can elevate corporate team efficiency to the next level in everyday operations. Strategies for Corporate Optimization The event focused on the operational application of artificial intelligence for business users, moving away from highly technical concepts and concentrating instead on practical, day-to-day utility. Last Tuesday, May 4, the event “Get Ready for Yes: Mastering the Loan Process” was held, organized by the Colombian American Chamber of Commerce Miami. This session, designed for the business community, took place virtually via Zoom with the objective of sharing strategies on how to prepare for and increase the likelihood of financial approval. During the first part of the session, Ray Juncosa , consultant at Florida SBDC at FIU, explained the characteristics financial institutions evaluate when assessing a business, focusing on the 5 C’s of Credit model: Character, Capacity, Capital, Collateral, and Conditions. He also detailed how to properly manage credit lines and presented the different financing options currently available, including those backed by the Small Business Administration (SBA) , which allow businesses to obtain working capital or acquire commercial real estate. Later, Adriana Madriñan , consultant at the same organization, discussed the support network that accompanies these corporate operations. She explained how SBDC advisory programs work, enabling companies with fewer than 500 employees to access up to 50 hours of free consulting services to strengthen areas such as financial structuring, marketing, and innovation. The session highlighted the importance of making informed decisions and seeking professional guidance when participating in these types of transactions and presenting strong applications to banks. On April 30, the in-person event “ Architecture and Construction Night CACC ” was held, organized by the Colombian American Chamber of Commerce Miami in collaboration with the Consulate of Colombia . This gathering, aimed at professionals in the construction sector, took place in Coral Gables, Florida, with the purpose of sharing perspectives and experiences regarding the sector’s current challenges and opportunities. During the first part of the session, attendees participated in a networking segment where the products and services of the sponsor ERA Windows and Doors were presented. The event was also supported by sponsors SerProMap and Habitat Group . This was followed by a special presentation by architect Willy Bermello , founder of Bermello Ajamil & Partners , a firm with projects in 58 countries that is now part of the multinational company Woolpert . Architect Bermello shared insights into his design and construction projects, along with a personal account of his journey from his arrival in the United States to his current role following the sale of his company. During this segment, participants had the opportunity to engage with him directly and ask questions related to his projects, professional work, and career development. The event, which included catering and a closing cocktail reception, highlighted the value of exchanging ideas in an environment conducive to building connections and strengthening professional relationships. Last April 28, the event “Breaking Myths: How the U.S. Banking System Works” was held, organized by the Colombian American Chamber of Commerce Miami. Understanding the U.S. banking system is essential for growing with confidence, and during this virtual session, participants had the opportunity to learn how to choose the right bank, understand the current financial landscape, and make informed decisions for the future of their businesses. This space for connection featured the valuable participation of two specialists from Seacoast Bank: Daniela Betancourt , Director of Global Banking, and Kimberly Narvaez , Senior Vice President of Global Banking. Through their expertise, they provided attendees with a practical guide to structuring their finances in the United States and understanding banking as a strategic ally for corporate expansion. Throughout the event, key aspects that every international company should consider when entering the U.S. market were addressed: Best Practices and Transparency: Cultural differences between Latin American and U.S. financial systems were explained. The main objective of this session was to analyze the logistical processes and operational partnerships required for companies based in the United States to plan corporate travel, executive meetings, conventions, and incentive programs in key cities across Colombia. The technical session featured Juanita Salazar , International Sales Key Account Manager for USA Movich Hotels , who detailed planning methodologies for organizing cross-border corporate events. She emphasized how establishing a strong institutional partner in the destination country helps mitigate operational barriers and streamline the arrival of U.S. companies into Colombia. Additionally, the session examined a joint operational model for managing groups and conventions. Juanita presented a centralized management framework that facilitates the initial coordination of corporate requirements from the United States directly with planning teams in Colombia. Within this context, she explained benefit structures for the corporate community, highlighting preferential rate schemes that eliminate minimum lodging requirements or long-term commitment clauses, thereby providing both technical and financial feasibility for organizations of varying capacities. Last Wednesday, April 22, the in-person event “Strategic Meeting with Carlos Fernando Galán, Mayor of Bogotá” was held. The event, hosted at the JW Marriott Miami, brought together business leaders and decision-makers to analyze the development priorities and economic growth projections of Colombia’s capital within the international context. During the session, key pillars positioning Bogotá as a dynamic investment hub in Latin America were examined. Mayor Galán presented progress on strategic infrastructure projects, highlighting advancements in the Bogotá Metro and the development of the Bogotá Airport City complex. The role of Invest in Bogotá in facilitating public-private partnerships and attracting foreign capital was also discussed, as these are critical factors for regional competitiveness. The technical discussion also addressed the city’s transition toward becoming a center for technology and innovation. Efforts in STEM education and bilingualism were evaluated as part of strengthening human capital , along with sustainability and environmental resilience policies that open opportunities for collaboration in green engineering . Finally, the session explored the advantages of nearshoring and the trade exchange opportunities between Bogotá and the Miami market.
